5 Months Closer!

As of today our file has been logged in with CCAA (China Center for Adoption Affairs) for 5 months. YAHOO!! Larry and I are going out to celebrate being one more month closer to “Maggie”. I am also going to try to find a gift for my secret pal tonight. I am finding our theme for July difficult. I can’t figure out what to buy, our theme is “Welcome to Canada/new country”. Not sure what I can buy a baby to go along with this theme. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Well my weekend was great! We all had a fantastic time and the weather was perfect! Here are a few pictures from the weekend.

Can’t wait to do it again girls!!

Must ... Sleep ...

Well as you can see by the time on this post, I can't sleep. I am giddy as a school girl! So what is more productive than sleep ... of course, typing a new blog post, LOL!!

I am not sure how a simple trip to the Shore Club, turned into an overnight camping trip, but here we are. All of us have been making it through the work week fueled on the build up of excitement for our camping/club trip.

Through this experience my co-workers have found out my disorder … I make lists … FOR EVERYTHING!

Here are my lists created for a one night stay (yes, they're double sided, so...?):
Yes I have Obsessive Compulsive Listing Disorder (OCLD), and I am sorry to tell you that there is no cure for this disorder.

As we all know I follow in the foot steps of the “great one” … SANTA CLAUSE. He is a great inspiration to all of us with OCLD.
My only problem with making lists is that I always seem to loose them or forget to take them with me. My only way to resolve this is to make a list, for my lists! LOL!!! :o)

OK, must sleep … or at least try!

I Love Surprises!!

Yesterday I received 2 surprises when I got home from work.

This was the first one:

Larry went to pick up Maggie’s crib!! We ordered it a week and a half ago and they told us it would be 3 to 4 weeks for it to come in but, SURPRISE!!! We were going to hold off putting it together but as Larry said, if we wait to put it together next year, (Yuck! I hate saying that) we will be in trouble if something is broken or missing.

So guess what we will be doing next weekend?!?!?

My second surprise was this:

MY SECRET PAL GIFT!!

~I mentioned what this was in a Previous Post.~

The book is so cute and I love the picture frame. I couldn’t wait to use the coconut hand soap … I LOVE IT!! It smells soooo yummy I could eat it! Your little handmade note was very sweet. I will be using the soap and bath soak tonight when I enjoy my relaxing bath!

5 Girls, a Campground, and a Dance Hall!

Oh what fun this Saturday will be!

Four of my co-workers and I are heading to Hubbards for a fun-filled evening of camping, conversation, dancing, and refreshments. I am very lucky to work with such great people, that I can enjoy time with them in and out of work.

So far the weather looks fantastic,

let’s hope it stays that way.

I love camping so I am really looking forward to going to the campground, sitting around the campfire, enjoying some drinks and chat with the girls! After that, then we are heading to the Shore Club to do some dancing and maybe some more drinks! The Club will be hopping as there is a great local band playing,
Short Notice

Can’t wait to go, I better start packing now!!

Emotional Overload!

The exciting events of yesterday at the airport are still spinning in my head. WOW! What an emotional day! About 10 minutes before their plane was scheduled to land people started to gather the electricity in the air was infectious. Here is a picture of the families and friends waiting.

Here is a picture of the first arrival:

Everything happened so fast and was so exciting I didn’t want to miss a moment so I did not end up with as many pictures as I had expected.

Larry and I got to meet a family from Bridgewater (Kristine & Kevin) who have two adopted daughters. I have been in contact with Kristine by email for quite a while but never had the chance to meet her personally! Thank you to both of you for making us feel so at ease, we look forward to seeing you and your family again!

Kristine introduced us to one of the new forever families; here is a picture of Sherry and her beautiful new daughter Zoe.

CONGRATULATIONS & WELCOME HOME
to all the new famlies!!

Thank you for letting us share in your joy. It was definitely a moment we will not soon forget.

Oh The Anticipation!

OH MY GOSH!!

Tomorrow there are five families (2-NS, 2-NB, 1-PEI) coming back home from China. They are scheduled to arrive at 1AM at the Halifax airport. Larry and I are going up to welcome them home, not that we know any of them personally, but it is sure to be an unforgettable experience! I think it will be a great way to meet a few people and share this wonderful event. I am so excited! I will have lots of photos for tomorrow’s post!

Here are their flight details:

Mindless Fun

THE DONKEY

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do. Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway; it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey.

He invited all his neighbours to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well. At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly. Then, to everyone's amazement he quieted down.

A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well. He was astonished at what he saw. With each shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing. He would shake it off and take a step up.

As the farmer's neighbours continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up. Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and happily trotted off!

Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of our troubles is a steppingstone. We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up.

Remember the five simple rules to be happy:

1. Free your heart from hatred - Forgive.

2. Free your mind from worries - Most never happen.

3. Live simply and appreciate what you have.

4. Give more.

5. Expect less

NOW --------

Enough of that crap . . .

The donkey later came back, and bit the shit out of the farmer who had tried to bury him. The gash from the bite got infected, and the farmer eventually died in agony from septic shock.

MORAL FROM TODAY'S LESSON:

When you do something wrong, and try to cover your ass, it always comes back to bite you.

Happy Mother's Day

Mother's Day is a special day for us to express our love and gratitude for our Mother’s. Today I would like to introduce you all to my Mother, Suzette. She is a wonderful, giving, beautiful, loving, and thoughtful person. When I was growing up my Mother gave me room to spread my wings so I could go on my own life journey, even when she thought it was the wrong choice.

She let me test the waters of life but she was always waiting on the shore with a life preserver and towel; so that if my adventure took a wrong turn she was able to save me, dry me off, and get me back on track.

For Larry and I, my Mother is one of our biggest supporters in all that we set out to accomplish, especially our decision to adopt. She is going to be a fantastic Grandmother, and I can’t wait for our baby to meet her. She has been reading and researching since we began our adoption process; as well as purchasing a million-and-one baby items! (Just to clarify, I acquired my shopping skills from my shop-a-holic Mother)

We end up arguing and bickering when we are together but usually it is something silly and we get over it rather quickly and are back to our usual “chatty” selves. (Anyone that knows us, knows that we could talk a hole through an iron pot!)

Because of my Mother
I have become the person I am today.

My supporter, my confidant, my life long teacher, my biggest fan, my best friend …

MY MOTHER!

Love you MOM!! XOXOXO

PRECIOUS MOTHER

Mom You've given me so much,
Love from your heart
and the warmth of your touch.
You are my Mother so dear;
I love you even more
with each and every new year.
If I could have chosen,
I would have picked no other.
Than for you...to be my lifelong friend
and Precious Mother.

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY to all of you who are Mothers, will be Mothers, have Mothers, or are missing your Mothers. Today is a day to reflect and enjoy all of the memories from the past, present, and the memories to come in the future! Hope your day is wonderful, however you spent it!
